Today’s $5 Pattern~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Willow Wrap Dress (and top)

If you don’t have it already, I highly recommend grabbing it today. I never thought this was a style that would be flattering on me~ but boy was I pleasantly surprised!!!

This dress IS beginner friendly. It’s a quick sew too! It actually took me longer to print, tape and trace my pattern than it actually took to sew it together! (Yes, I am Team Trace~ mainly because I like having all my alterations on physical pattern pieces. I also sew for my sister, who is smaller, so this way my printed pattern still has all the sizes available.) Seriously, it took longer to prep my pattern and cut it out than sewing the Willow up.

Buy this pattern HERE.

What I Wore This Week~

  • LN Rhapsody Blouse~ in a custom print Rayon Challis from Raspberry Creek Fabrics
  • LN Aria Button Down~ in a cotton gingham from the NYC Garment District (this was my fit test during the pattern testing)
  • LN Aria Button Down~ colorblocked in 100% linen from Gray Line Linens, NYC Garment District
  • LN Vivace Dolman ~ Custom printed Rib Knit from Raspberry Creek Fabrics
  • LN Constellation Pullover ~ in Loop Terry from RCF (2024)
  • LN Aria Button Down ~ in 100% linen stripe from Gray Line Linens, NYC
  • LN Caprice Skirt ~ in a vintage embellished cotton gingham
    • worn with a RTW tank and knit “jacket”

Disclaimer: The photo featuring the White loop Terry Constellation was taken on the ferry from Cape May over to Lewes, DE for your bike ride. The blue striped Aria button down were taken after our hot 30 mile bike ride, so neither of these photos are the best!!

What I’m Sewing This Week~

This week I sewed up some kids clothing from the Patriotic Line from Raspberry Creek Fabrics for my great niece and nephews. My favorite shirt for all of them is the Baggy Tee from Brindle & Twig. I made the boys matching tees and I made a coordinating Love Notions Everyday Play dress for my niece. I was able to sneak out a tee for my niece as well with the scraps! These will be perfect for Memorial Day and July 4th! You can see the entire collection HERE.

You may have noticed I didn’t sew up much this week. I’ve had a really busy week. Sunday I went up to an Art Show in beautiful Verona Park by my daughter’s house. Tuesday, my husband and drove to Cape May(NJ) and took the ferry across to Lewes(DE) for another bike ride through Cape Henelopen State Park onto Reboboth Beach. Believe it or not, it was 10 degrees cooler further south. (It was a high of 95* at home!)

Then, Wednesday I went into the city with my sister to see a show on Broadway. We saw Two Stranger Carry A Cake Across New York and it was FABULOUS!!! And lastly today I’m going to lunch with 4 of my best friends down on Long Beach Island~ we all taught together for many years and are now all retired!

My Spring Sewing Plans~ ALTERING BREAK!

My alterations pile is just getting bigger and bigger! I have been making some progress on them. I’ve also decided to donate some items from this pile as well.

Thanks for reading “The Weekly Stitch”! I’m so happy you took the time to “visit” my sewing room!

Pattern Links~

NOTE: These are affiliate links. It costs you nothing to purchase from these links but they do give me credit for your purchase and provide me with a small commission. This helps fund my fabric stash which allows me to continue to test and review more patterns. Using the affiliate link also helps me cover the costs of maintaining my website. I have tried to avoid placing ads on my website so using my link helps me to continue to do that!

To receive an additional 10% off LN pattern prices, use my code 10MARYMAC. This coupon code can be used on any purchase as along as the order total is $8 or more. (This means that you can no longer get my 10% off one $6 Feature Friday pattern by itself.)  Since this change has been made I would truly appreciate it if you used my affiliate links above to purchase the Feature Friday patterns so that I will get “credit” for the sale. (I do receive a small commission). I highly suggest adding on a kid’s pattern or a “Sale” pattern to your Feature Friday pattern order so you can get that discount!

NOTE: This code isn’t designed to work for the Me Made May Daily Sale, however it may work if you add another one of the “Sale” patterns on the LN website(simply click on SHOP, then SALE)
