What I Wore This Week~
I’ve started my Me Made May pledge a bit early this year. Since I almost always wear something me made, my goal for this May was to really evaluate the memades in my closet. I have so many that never get worn. I’m trying to wear something different each day(I mean I’ll try). I’m going to reach for things that haven’t fit well in the past to see if they fit me now and then decide if I want to make them fit, wear them as is, or donate.
I’ll be honest, I REALLY, REALLY hate altering clothing! So, I must really love the fabric if I want to “save” it. This week, I’ve determined that the Floral Linen Melody Dolman will get a new hem line. I’m going to redraw the front hem curve and bring it up about 2 inches. (Note: I’ve already altered the hem on my pattern pieces for other Melody dolmans I’ve made.)
- LN Clef Coat ~ Patchwork Madras and lined with Loop French Terry.
- LN Constellation ~ Custom printed fleece from Raspberry Creek Fabrics
- LN Rhapsody Blouse ~ Custom printed rayon challis from Raspberry Creek Fabrics
- LN Constellation ~ French Terry from the RCF Spring Collection, still available HERE.
- LN Melody Dolman ~ Floral Linen blend from Mily Mae a few years ago.
- I’ve decided to shorten this shirt a bit in the front by redrawing the lower front curve.
- LN Timbre Top~ in a Cotton Voile Block print from Blackbird Fabrics
- I love this fabric, so I am planning of washing and the putting it in the dryer(I usually hang this fabric to dry) and then I will take out the hem and take it in down the side seams.

What I’m Sewing This Week~
I finally received my Strike-Off fabrics from Raspberry Creek Fabrics, so I have been busy sewing them up! I absolutely LOVE their cotton lycra jersey for nightgowns in the summer. This fabric just gets softer and softer the more you wash it! RCF French Terry is also a favorite of mine~ especially for the Constellation! This new Salt Water Collection is just perfect for me! I mean every NJ girl needs a salt water taffy pullover! I also sewed up this cute Pineapple print into a tee-shirt for my great niece. You can find all these fabrics HERE.

You can find the details on my LN Juliet nightgown on this blog post.
My Spring Sewing Plans~
Sometimes we think we make the best plans~ but when it comes to sewing they aren’t always easy to follow (or stick to!). I’ve gone “off plan” a bit, but I will get to some of these. I will definitely get to my linen Aria Button downs. When in NYC I bought 3 new colors for a color blocked version and the purple from Mood keeps calling my name! I still want to sew up the Caprice skirts, but I have some newer fabrics I really want to sew up first! I did get the perfect zippers for my Pink/Green swim fabric and Coral Loop French Terry while in the city as well for more Constellations. I do wear my Constellations all spring AND summer, as when bike riding the front pocket is perfect for my phone/keys/wallet. The evening by the coast are always cool and we also spend some much time at or on the water.
Honestly, the Metra Blazers may get put aside for late summer~ they will be perfect for New England in September! I think my Boucle Clef Coat will wait for then as well. I still have hopes on getting the Coda Coat done!!
