Sewing World News~
Love Notions
The new pattern the “Cosette” is still in testing and I’m excited for it to be released to you. I am not testing this pattern, but I will be sewing it up before it releases. I will be sharing it here and over on the Love Notions Facebook Group page.
I’m planning to make a solid matching top and bottoms for my Cosette. I’ve got some solid Ponte de Roma headed my way from Raspberry Creek Fabrics for my set! I can’t wait to get started on this!

Want to get fabric ready for this set? Medium to heavyweight knit fabrics such as Liverpool, double knit and ponte are recommended. Where to purchase? I suggest checking out the following fabrics from some of my most trusted fabric resources.
- Ponte De Roma Solids from Raspberry Creek Fabrics (310 gsm)
- Great selection of colors
- Ponte De Roma Prints from RCF
- Several of the current prints in the 2026 Club Collections from Fall or Christmas are also available on Ponte
- Cupro Double Knit Techno from Surge (240 gsm)
- Viscose Nylon Ponte from Surge (320 gsm)
- Ponte de Roma from Cali Fabrics
- They have a huge selection of designer deadstock stocks, a few stripes and textured pontes.
If you really want to create your own unique Cosette~ you can have one of thousands of designs printed on Ponte de Roma at Raspberry Creek Fabrics. You can select one of their retired designs, one from the Designer Library or even upload your own design!
Pattern Emporium Friday 50% Off Pattern Is ~ Ray Of Light Asymmetric Tee
The Ray of Light t-shirt sewing pattern features ruching along one side seam, creating a beautiful asymmetric ‘ray of light’ effect across the body. This top is particularly sensational in striped fabrics & is maternity friendly.
Talk about options!!!! There are so many neckline and sleeve necklines you can make an entire closet full of them and they would all be different! It’s the perfect elevated tee. Come Spring I will need all new tees, so I can’t wait to make a basic white one~ that won’t be so basic at all!!
You can grab the pattern HERE. The is on sale for $5.50 USD
Remember PE in an Australian company so this sale will end Friday night at 10 PM EST.

Raspberry Creek Fabrics
This week we have the release of the 2 X 1 Ribbing! I have been using this ribbing for a few months now and I’m so glad that it is finally available for you to purchase. I have used it traditionally as neckbands, cuffs and band ~ and I LOVE it!
This is a versatile heavyweight try-blend that combines the soft feel of cotton with the recovery of spandex and the durability of polyester. This makes it perfect for cuffs, neckbands and waistbands! It can also be used for entire garments such as tees, tanks, dresses and lounge wear. See all the details below:
10 oz / 340 GSM
2×1 Ribbing
62% Polyester, 33% Cotton, 5% Spandex
46/48” Wide
You can purchase all the ribbing HERE.
I sewed up the True Bias Marlo Sweater in some French Terry from the Halloween Club Collection (which leaves retail pricing on 10/31!) and used the Heather Gray ribbing for the bands. This ribbing was perfect for the front bands asI’ve found that some don’t have enough structure for this pattern.
You can find the gingham French Terry HERE.
You can find the Heather Gray Rib Knit HERE.

Below is an oversized LN Sloane Sweater in a Mini Gingham Gingham Check from the Fall Club Collection (it’s available in several colors) and used a contrasting rib for the bands. This is listed as “Mauve” but it is more of a cross between a mauve and a clay. It blends perfectly with prints and have mauve in them~ but is not a perfect match.
You can find the French Terry HERE.
You can find the Warm Mauve Rib Knit HERE

You can also use this ribbing for entire garments! It has enough stretch and recovery for lounge sets, dresses and skirts. Here are some examples of what other members of the promo team sewed with the new ribbing.

What I’m Sewing This Week~
Well, with the combination of losing my “sewjo” this past month and being Fall (my favorite time of year to be outside) I really haven’t gotten much(any) sewing done.
I did, however, sew a LN Aria button down in one of the new Christmas Club prints from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. I used their sweatshirt fleece that I LOVE for the warmth and coziness! I made a plaid version last winter was worn constantly which is why I needed to make another one! I just need to do my buttons and then I’ll grab a photo of it!
I also worked a bit more on my closet and my huge pile of alterations. (You can read more about all of that on last week’s Weekly Stitch)
My Sewing Plans~
First up, will be finishing up my Christmas Promos for Raspberry Creek Fabrics! I vow to have them done by the end of next week.
Next up is a new Grainline Thayer Jacket in “Cargo Canvas” ~ a new fabric that RCF will be carrying. It will be available in many solid colors and for custom printing on white. I’ve chosen Navy Blue and have a plaid twill shirting for the lining. I purchased some navy sleeve lining from Hobby Lobby (I actually love the polyester satin that the carry for sleeve linings). The plaid twill shirting is another upcoming retail fabric from RCF.
My Fall Sewing List (subject to change~ LOL)
- New LN Cosette Set in purple Ponte de Roma from RCF on its way.
- New Plaid Cotton shirting from RCF ~ LN Aria Button down
- LN Oakley Vest~ one or two quilted sweater knits (placing order this week for fabrics)
- LN Aria Button downs ~ in a few solid colors for layering
- More LN Aria Button downs ~ in some awesome prints I purchased from Style Maker Fabrics in September.
Thanks for reading “The Weekly Stitch”! I’m so happy you took the time to “visit” my sewing room!

Bonus Photos~
Last week we traveled just over an hour 2 days in a row to one of our favorite bike trails ~ The D & L Canal (Delaware & Lehigh) Trail in PA along the Delaware River. This is a trail that runs along the river with beautiful views and so many great little towns to visit! There is also a trail that runs along the river on the NJ side (the D & R Canal Trail~ Delaware & Raritan) that we often ride as well. We prefer the PA side because it is a bit more picturesque and not as flat (although many prefer the flatter NJ side).
On Tuesday, we drive to Raven Rock, NJ and parked the car in the Bulls Island State Park lot. From there we walked with our bikes across the pedestrian bridge over the Delaware River into Lumberville, PA. We rode north past Uhlerstown to Upper Black Eddy before backtracking to Uhlerstown. There we crossed the bridge to Frenchtown in NJ.
One of our favorite lunch spots of all time is in Frenchtown ~ Chez Daniel. There are also several other great options for lunch! In October they always have “Spooky Soup” ~ a carrot curry bisque like soup topped with a drizzle of purple sweet potato puree (often made to look like a spider web). My favorite lunch entree is the Quiche Lorraine which I get almost every time! My husband chose the Quiche with butternut squash, goat cheese and spinach.

On Wednesday, we headed northwest again to ride a lower section of the trail. We parked in Washington Crossing State Park on the NJ side, walked our bikes across that bridge into Washington Crossing, PA. From there we rode just into New Hope, PA. We had a Fall Foliage Ride planned on the New Hope Railroad. It’s expensive (and hard sometimes) to park in New Hope, so we just rode our bikes the 7 miles and locked our bikes at the railroad! It really was a great little train ride.
From there we rode our bikes to one of our favorite places in New Hope for lunch ~ Karla’s! (Best thing on the menu is the Poutine Fries with short rib gravy that we always share.) After lunch~ rode down the PA side back to Washington’s Crossing with a quick stop at the Washington Crossing State Park Homestead to visit with the sheep!
