Pianoforte Jumper ~
I tested the Pianoforte pattern for release~ and I can’t believe that at my age I loved this jumper as much as I do! This would be perfect sewn up in denim! (Pssst next week Raspberry Creek Fabrics is releasing a whole line of retail denims~ read more below). This corduroy version has gotten so much wear and I can’t wait for the cooler temps to get here so I can wear it again! I love the pockets and their construction~ it really is such a fun sew! I will be making a denim version for sure!
Presto Tunic ~
The Presto Tunic is one Love Notions pattern that I don’t think gets enough love. It’s a pretty quick sew that can be sewn in a variety of woven fabrics for very different results. I have made quite a few and I want to make a denim chambray version this Fall.

Want to take your handmade Presto Tunic up a notch? Miter the corners of your split hem! Mitering is a technique that most quilters are very familiar with. If you’re like me, and don’t quilt, it might be one of those things you always forget how to do. In fact when I made my navy gingham, I actually went back to the blog post I wrote for Love Notions. Coda Quilted Coat ~
The Coda Quilted Coat is such a versatile pattern. Are you a quilter? You can piece the back and quilt it yourself with the help of Alderwood Studio’s design and instructions. Not a quilter? The Coda could be your chance to give piecing and quilting a try. Any way you choose to make it~ it’s gonna be great! I would love to find a quilted denim to make another Coda!!! Or perhaps this is my sign to quilted some denim myself! So how many Codas is too many?
The Coda Quilted Coat is the perfect piece to add to your outerwear collection. I’ve made mine from a bed quilt from Home Goods! The possibilities are endless! Last spring I wanted to make another version~ one that wasn’t pink. I finally found a blue block print quilt that will be perfect for another one. I’m going to make this for spring next year.
Legato Jeans ~
If you’ve never sewn jeans before, the Legato Jean is a great pattern to begin with. Be sure to check out the on-demand course that goes with the Legato Jeans. Bluegrass Shirt & Dress ~
The Bluegrass button-down is a timeless, tailored and classic design. Depending on the options and fabric you choose you can create a Bluegrass with a real Western flair or a perfectly classic button-down. The tailored fit of the Bluegrass makes it perfect for layering underneath jackets and sweaters!
I tested the Bluegrass pattern in May of 2025. I’ll be honest I’m not a Western shirt kinda girl~ but the Bluegrass shirt is also the perfect princess seamed button-down as well! With the right fabric it can be coastal and preppy! PS~ this pattern works perfectly with quilting cotton!!!
To be honest, I don’t own this shirt anymore ~ I tested/sewed up this shirt right before I decided that I needed to concentrate on my health. (Honestly~ I think it was the promo pictures for this shirt that motivated me) I’ve spent the last year eating healthy and exercising. I an looking forward to making a new version of the Bluegrass shirt~ and of course it will be a classic preppy princess seamed button-down!!!
Arlington Sweater ~
The Arlington Sweater was the perfect cozy knit pattern to add to the “Denim Collection”. It’s perfect for the transitional weather so many of us are having right now AND it pairs really well several of the patterns in the Denim Collection! Let me be honest – it’s a pretty awesome pattern. It is such a classic with enough options that take it from a basic turtleneck to something extra special! With all the different options there are so many different combinations you can make with just this one pattern! Talk about bang for your buck!

New Retail Denim Releasing Next Week at Raspberry Creek Fabrics
Next week, a whole new line of retail Denim is releasing at Raspberry Creek Fabric. They are available in a variety of weights, some with stretch, some without. There is even 2 different Railroad stripes to choose from! Perfect timing with the Love Notions Denim Collection Sale!!!!
I used the 8 oz denim in the light wash to sew up a pair of Love Notions Somerset Capri pants. I think this is the perfect weight for a nice pant for Fall.
I also picked up the 8 oz Railroad Stripe to make Helen’s Closet York Pinafore. Back when I was in high school I made a denim overall style jumper in this exact fabric! I’m a little too old (and busty) to were that bib style jumper now~ but I thought this was a great replacement! I’ve been wearing this way more than I thought I would~ it’s just so comfy.

What I’m Sewing This Week~
I’m not actually sewing anything this week!!! When this blog post went live/sent out to you I was actually on a ferry coming back from Block Island, RI. So, next week expect to see most of my “What I Wore Photos” from Block Island!
Sewing Plans~
The first thing I will sew this weekend (besides unpack and do laundry) will be the Christmas Club Strike offs. I’ll batch sew the 2 Sweatshirt fleece pieces~ either into 2 LN Aria Button downs or one Aria and 1 Constellation. The French Terry will be quick to sew up as a LN Sloane.
Next I plan on working on a RCF promo with some navy “Cargo Canvas”to sew up a jacket. I’ve been going back and forth on which pattern to use. Over vacation I looked at some other options, so this weekend I’ll make my final choice and get started. Contenders are: Grainline Thayer Jacket, Chalk & Notch Den Jacket, Friday Pattern Company Ilford Jacket
I’m also hoping to sew up one or two new LN Aria Button downs in Fall plaids! I’m sure you noticed by now that I LOVE wearing button downs and I actually need a few new more for Fall.
