Singing Praise For The New Serenade &The Weekly Stitch With Sew Mary Mac~ September 11, 2026

…………..Welcome To My Sewing Room (This post contains affiliate links.)

Love Notions Newest Pattern~ The Serenade Top & Dress

The newest pattern from Love Notions released earlier this week. I was able to test this one and let me tell you~ I LOVE IT! I have never really worn wrap tops, mainly because being petite with a fuller bust they don’t generally fit me. This pattern has totally changed how I feel about wrap tops! I love that I can actually wear this AND actually move around and everything stays in place~ no tugging or readjusting! After testing was complete~ I went and sewed up another one before it released. That’s how you know I love this pattern!

In case you missed it, I wrote a blog post all about the Serenade Shirt along with some info on the new Serenade Sew Along You can read that post HERE.

The pattern is still on sale for $9.50 (through 9/14) and you can use my code MARYMAC10 to get an additional 10% off. You can grab the pattern HERE.

The other exciting news from Love Notions is the Serenade Sew Along! This is a 6-week sew along with Tami for just $15 (use my code for 10% off). This is something new for Love Notions and I think you may find it something that might enjoy! Whether it’s help on sewing the “tricky” parts, pattern fitting help or just motivation to get your Serenade sewn up I think it’s a great idea. (I think I may even join in!). You can get more information on the Serenade Sew Along HERE.

You can sign up for the Serenade Sew Along HERE.

~ Pattern Emporium ~

There is no 50% off Friday pattern today due to the release of their newest pattern, the On Repeat Woven Tee. The sale on this pattern is over now~ but if may want to take a look at it HERE.

I wish I could have gotten one sewn up while it was on sale, but I was still involved in the testing for the LN Serenade. I am excited to give this pattern a try, as I like the way PE patterns fit me. I also love the FBA adjustments included!

Raspberry Creek Fabrics Christmas Club Collection Has Arrived!

The Christmas Club Collection released yesterday and it’s filled with so many beautiful designs! I don’t have anything sewn up to show you this week (my fabrics won’t be arriving until next week), but below you can see some of the designs and the ones that I will be sewing up. All 3 of my selections were from Brittany Laidlaw’s Woodland Noel Collection. I love that some of these prints are just “winter” prints and not holiday ones!

Don’t forget that all new Club releases are $1 off per yard for the first week!! So get your orders in by next Thursday 9/17. You can see the Christmas Club Collection HERE.

Be sure to head over to the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Facebook page to see all the awesome things the Promo Team has sewn up. If you like making matching or coordinating Holiday outfits or pajamas~ this is the place to grab your fabrics for sure!

Next week there will be a release of retail denims. I’ll be posting them in RCF and Love Notions Facebook group pages as well as my Sew Mary Mac Facebook page. If you follow me on Instagram, there will be some posts there as well.

What I Wore Last Week~

This week, I wore a mix of newer makes along with some of my oldest makes!

  • LN Caprice Skirt~ in rayon challis from Boho Fabrics (2020)
  • McCall’s 6465(Disc)~ Patchwork Madras Dress, NYC Garment District (2017)
  • LN Tinley Skort~ in a patchwork print cotton poplin from Chic Fabrics, NYC
  • LN Aria~ Color blocked in linen from Gray Lines Linen, NYC
  • PE About Town Popover~ in white Warsa Linen from Gray Lines Linen, NYC
  • LN Laundry Day Tee Dress~ in swim knit from Raspberry Creek Fabrics
    • This is the one that started it all~ the very first Swim dress I made!
  • LN Willow Wrap Dress~ in Jude Connally designer deadstock fabric from Surge Fabrics (2024)
    • A Jude Connally dress typically costs over $200. If you ever see their fabric being sold~ grab some! When I purchased this from Surge, JC still had dresses made from this fabric on their website!
    • Surge still has some of these, called the JC Collection available. This exact fabric isn’t available , but there are 2 other color ways and many other prints! Find them HERE.
  • LN Tinley Skirt~ in a patchwork madras plaid from Chic Fabric, NYC Garment District
    • LN La Bella Donna Dolman~ in Cotton Modal from Style Maker Fabrics. I highly recommend this fabric!!!

If you follow along with my Weekly Stitch, you may notice that I purchase a lot of my fabrics from the Garment District in NYC. I go into the city often (both my daughters work there) and love to spend the morning shopping my favorite shops. A few have online stores, Metro Textiles, Gray Line Lines and Mood. Most of them do not. If you are ever in NYC please try to plan a morning or afternoon shopping. It can really be overwhelming to one who hasn’t been there. At one point I had several sewists asking me where to shop and instead of answering all of their questions on Facebook I wrote up a blog post. You can read that post HERE.

What I’m Sewing This Week~

This week I should have been sewing up Christmas strikes for Raspberry Creek Fabrics~ but my fabric still hasn’t arrived 😦 I’ve been waiting patiently every day hoping it would show up on my doorstep! While I was waiting for that fabric earlier in the week, I did have time to make my Fableism plaid Serenade Top so that was a win! And how excited was I went it was used for the “pattern cover” on the Love Notions website!!

I then learned that it hasn’t even shipped(because it was misplaced) so that meant I had NOTHING on my sewing table that “needed” to be sewn with a deadline! So~ of course I thought~ one more Serenade Top!! I went through my linen scraps(very large ones left over from all the color blocking I do) and I had enough to make one!! So I was all set to sew those linen scraps up when a big box arrived from RCF with some of the new retail fabrics that will be releasing throughout September and October. Well~ there was a pretty lightweight flannel that I think will make a perfect Serenade~ so THAT is what I’m sewing this week. I can’t post the pics of that as it isn’t being released until Sept 29 (sorry no peeks).

My Sewing Plans~

I have NO sewing plans for next week, as I will be away! (Block Island~ here I come!!!). But I have packed mostly Me Mades to wear on my trip!

I’m assuming that while I am away, my Christmas strike fabric will arrive and I will work on getting them sewn up first. I then have several new retail fabrics that arrived from RCF l which may take priority. I’m really excited about a few of them! I LOVE sewing jackets!! I always find them so rewarding to sew. So I’ve got a LN Clef Coat ~ button down version and a Grainline Thayer Jacket planned. (Although I may change it up~ I’ve wanted to sew the Chalk & Notch Den Jacket too.) I’m actually excited to begin sewing them!

When I get through sewing the promos I have, I want to “reset” my sewing room for Fall/Winter sewing. I’m going to look over my Fall/Winter Sewing Plans list that I made last year and see if there is something on it I never got to that I still want to make.

Coming soon………
