- Clearwater Summer Essential Sewing Course ~ I Highly Recommend this!!!

I truly LOVE my Clearwater Swim Dresses! I have worn them the past 2 summers consistently. I always reach for them BEFORE my RTW swimsuits! The next thing I have to determine is what alterations I can make to them to fit me now~ or if I just want to make a brand new one!! All my swim fabrics have come from Raspberry Creek Fabrics.
I highly recommend the Clearwater Summer Essentials pattern for both Ladies and Girls! My niece loves the way that the briefs fit her daughter (my little great niece Vivi) over RTW ones. I do have another suit planned for her this year.

Pattern Emporium 50~Off Friday Pattern Is~ Spellbound Fit & Flare Dress

With it’s easy to wear fit and flare silhouette, the Spellbound Dress is the perfect all-rounder.
A sewing pattern for stretch knit fabrics, this style is gently shaped through the upper body (bust & waist). It then flares out in a wide A-line silhouette, from the hip bone to the hemline. 3 summer armholes finish this design – cap, sleeveless & flutter.
I am amazed at all the options that you can sew with this one single pattern!! I love the integrated cap sleeve~ as I don’t often wear sleeveless much anymore. It’s so annoying making sure my bra straps are covered. And how cute is that little flutter sleeve!
You can grab this pattern for $6.00 (USD) Here. (Note, since PE is an Australian company the sale lasts until Friday 10 PM EST)
New Fabric Resource (with a coupon code)~
I received my second order from Graceful Fabrics this week. I’m very pleased with the knit fabric that I have received from them so I thought I would pass this on to you. I plan on ordering another color of this knit.
I had signed up for their emails when I placed one order with this “new to me” shop early spring for printed “Urban Rib” fabric. I was very pleased with it~ however I didn’t read the ordering info very well so I received 2 one-yard pieces. I’ll still use it but not what I intended to sew with it. Then I received an email stating that all fabrics were 40% off before they went on a short vacation! I immediately when to see if there was something I’d might want/like/need. And of course I placed an order!
I LOVE the “Golden Rib Knit” that I just received in the Bubble Gum Pink. It is a rib knit, and it’s perfect for a lightweight cardigan such as the LN Boyfriend Cardigan, True Bias Marlo Sweater or the Pattern Emporium Grab a Cuppa Cardi. With the40% off sale, I grabbed this fabric to make my wearable muslin of my first PE Grab A Cuppa Cardi. I have a pretty expensive Kelly green striped knit I want to make this PE pattern in, but want to try it out on something else first. This pink knit is perfect! This rib knit is what I would call a double knit with ribs~ not your standard rib knit you’d use for tops.
You can visit Graceful Fabrics HERE. Please note when ordering you must select “Continuous” to get 2 yards as one piece! Don’t be like me!!! To receive 15% off your order use this code~ MARY
Below is the Bubble Gum Pink “Golden Rib Knit” fabric, PE Grab a Cuppa Cardigan and the Kelly Green knit for my 2nd version.
My pink version with be a long sleeved version while my green stripe will be made with the simple short sleeved hack. I LOVE short sleeved cardigan for summer! Be on the look out for these makes soon!
You can grab the PE Grab A Cuppa Cardi pattern HERE.

What I Wore This Week~
- Pattern Emporium About Town Popover~ in a rayon chambray**
- LN Aria Button Down~ in a cotton madras plaid (Style Maker Fabrics-2024?)
- LN Timbre Top~ in a rayon crinkle from Cali Fabrics (2023?)
- LN Rhapsody Blouse~ in a rayon crepe from Style Maker Fabrics, 2023?
- LN Aria Button Down~ in a cotton/linen chambray
- LN Rhapsody Blouse~ in a ditsy floral rayon challis from Style Maker Fabrics(2026)

**This is my first final version of the Pattern Emporium About Town Popover and I LOVE it!!!! I am so excited that I perfected the fit for me and can’t wait to make my white linen version. You can check out my wearable muslin on this blog post. This post also includes some more details about the pattern.
The PE Popover Top and the short sleeved LN Rhapsody are brand new makes, so there is no alterations needed to them. Both Aria button downs I was able to shrink a bit in the washer and dryer so they fit reasonably well. The Royal blue and white Rhapsody is from a few years ago and now fits. The only piece that needs to be altered is the red floral rayon crepe Timbre Top. Shrinking it did not work, so I will be taking it in on the side seams of both the sleeve and body. It doesn’t took too bad in the photo, but looks a bit like a sack when walking around!
Note: Please excuse the wrinkled mess of me in the chambray button-down~ I had just spent the whole day at a “Doggy Derby” fundraiser in the hot sun(with a bit of relief here and there from some gusty winds!)
What I’m Sewing This Week~
This week I was able to sew up the LN Timbre top for my “faux” dress in Raspberry Creek Fabrics rayon challis. I had to reprint my Timbre pattern completely before I could begin~ so it took a bit longer to get it done. I’m glad I have the pattern ready to go now and I’ll be able to sew up another one or two Timbres for summer. (I have a pile of Timbres waiting to be altered though.)
I also worked on the new pattern test from Love Notions~ the Somerset. Tami has made a few adjustments to the sizing and construction based upon the feedback from the testers. One of the many reasons I enjoy testing for Love Notions~ the tester’s feedback is taken seriously and almost always results in some changes being made. I can’t wait for you to see! I’ll say this~ it’s perfect for casual summer days!
I’m sewing up my “finalish” version of this set. (Yes a top and bottom). Keep an eye out on the Love Notions Facebook group for sneak peeks!
Thanks for reading “The Weekly Stitch”! I’m so happy you took the time to “visit” my sewing room!

Bonus Photos~
A quick drive down the “Parkway” to Cape May for a quick ride down to Sunset Point, the Lighthouse, around town and for lunch at one of our favorite places on Ocean Drive (Taco Cabalitto). This will be our last bike ride here until the Fall~ as the roads are narrow and the little seaside village was already quite crowded. We stopped at Beach Plum Farm to feed the chickens as usual. We always end our day in Cape May with a Kohrs Bros frozen custard~ I always get the peanut butter/chocolate swirl. My husband went for the special~ Coffee and Caramel swirl.
