Raspberry Creek Fabrics Rayon Challis Spotlight~

A few weeks ago I gave you a sneak peek at the faux dress I made for a promo for Raspberry Creek Fabrics. Here are a few of the photos I took for them. In case you haven’t noticed, I LOVE RCF Rayon Challis! I love having 2 pieces that I can mixed and match or wear as a dress! I took this on vacation with me and it was perfect for the unexpected hot weather we had. This is a custom print, but they have several designs available at retail pricing. You can find those HERE.

I love a faux dress because I can wear these pieces so many different ways!! This is the Love Notions Timbre Top and the Love Notions Caprice Skirt simply worn together with a belt.

Also~ the Raspberry Creek Fabrics Back To School Collection has released! Right now you can get $1 off per yard through the weekend. I always place my RCF orders during release week~ as very $ counts!!! You can view the entire BTS Collection HERE. Below are a few of my favorites! Keep scrolling to see what I made for my great niece and nephew with this release!

Love Notions Update~

There will not be another pattern sale until July 17th. There will be another collection of patterns on sale for just $5 each. This sale will last 2 weeks. Tami and Tessa are on vacation with their families and taking a much needed break!

Pattern Emporium

There is no 50% off pattern this Friday. When ever a new pattern releases they do not have a sale that week. Looking forward to see what next week’s pattern is!!

  • LN Aria Button Down~ Colorblocked in seersucker from Mood Fabrics

What I’m Sewing This Week~

This week was all about sewing for my great niece and nephew. The Raspberry Creek Fabrics “Back To School” line has just released and I was able to sew up something for each of them. I used my favorite Tee pattern (Brindle and Twig Baggie Tee) for a baseball tee for Lucas. Vivian requested her favorite dress pattern~ the Everyday Play Dress from Love Notions in a cute pencil/apple/bow print. Why yes, I do bribe them with munchkins !!!

You can see the entire Back To School Collection HERE.

I also have Vivi’s 5th birthday next week, so I’ve been using sewing up a few things for her. She loves all the things I make her and always tells people she is wearing “Aunt Mary”. I’ll have some pics of those for you next week. But I did use up a ton of “scraps” from my stash. Some RCF knits, an Urban Rib from Graceful Fabrics and some rib knit from my stash.

Sewing Plans~

I’ve got quite a few things I want to sew, but I’m still working on altering so many of my MeMades so that I can wear them again. I really want to get a couple LN Aria Button Downs done, perhaps I can batch sew them. I also saw this skirt from one of my favorite shops in Newport, RI that I visit often for inspiration and I “need” to recreate it!! Even my husband agreed that it was “so me”! If you love classic preppy New England style clothing visit them online~ Kiel James Patrick

  • Elastic Waist
  • Color blocked vertically
  • Seersucker
  • I’m thinking the LN Caprice skirt will be the base for this skirt!

This photo is also taken on Bannister’s Wharf in Newport, RI in front of my favorite place to eat! Clarke Cooke House is the quintessential Newport experience!! It’s so much fun in the summer but we’re also been there on a snowy night in December and it was awesome as well! For casual dining the “Candy Store” is a wonderful cafe which is part of the Clarke Cooke House.

Here are some photos from our visit there back in December. The Clarke Cooke House and the Flagship Kiel James Patrick store.

Thanks for reading “The Weekly Stitch”! I’m so happy you took the time to “visit” my sewing room!

Bonus Photos~ Week in New England Part 1~ Boston

Here are some photos from our trip to New England. I few days in Boston~ my husband was born there, lived there as a small child and then again for school. He always loves going back and “playing tourist” for my benefit~ but I think he likes it just as much!! We ate in the North End (old Italian section), walked around the city and my husband even drove a duck boat. And yes~~ there were still members of the Scottish “Tartan Army” there. We didn’t take any pics of them, but did get a few of the traffic cones they left on the statues! (Not sure what that all means~ simply google “Tartan Army in Boston”!

We ended our week in Mystic CT~ which actually isn’t really a town. It’s a small “hamlet” on either side of the Mystic River. Depending on which side of the river you are on, you’re in either Groton or Stonington. I’ll post those photos next week!!!!
