……Welcome To My Sewing Room

Feature Friday Pattern From Love Notions
The $6 Feature Friday pattern from Love Notions today, 7/4/25 is the Frankie Polo Shirt and Dress~ the perfect updated classic! Remember to use my code 10MARYMAC for an extra 10% off.
The Frankie Polo is an updated polo that is bound to become a basic in your wardrobe. The neckline is more open than a traditional polo~ giving it a more feminine look. The possibilities truly are endless with all the sleeve and cuff options. Choose from a contrasting collar, placket and cuffs or all one fabric. Mixing up solids and prints or even print mixing can help you create a truly one-of-a-kind top or dress.

I tested this pattern back in the Fall of 2023 and I knew I’d want to make a few of these for Spring/Summer~ and I totally forgot!!! (My to-sew wish list is never ending!). Hopefully I’ll get one made up! I LOVE that you can use a woven for the collar and placket. I think I’d love to make a solid color knit version with a gingham or ditsy floral collar and placket. I think it would be so classic and preppy! (my style- in case you haven’t noticed)
When I do get around to sewing another Frankie, I plan on raising the placket opening. For details on how I will do this along with lots of other tips and trick see the link below.

What I Wore On My June Getaway Last Week (MeMade of Course!)
In my first edition of “The Weekly Stitch” I mentioned I was traveling to the New England coast for a getaway and I was busy sewing up a few (4 to be exact) new LN Aria button down shirts. When in New England a classic button down is a must-have for vacation. The mornings and evening are typically cool and breezy. Well along with most of the East Coast of the US- New England had a heat wave! Over ninety-five degrees is not something I anticipated. So sadly, I only wore one of my new Arias for a few hours one evening~ the pink linen version with lobsters and other shells/shellfish. The day we left it finally cooled down and I wore my Seersucker color blocked version for the ride home.

Upon seeing the weather report for the week, as I was doing laundry and packing on Sunday~ I was whipping up a new LDT dress (Love Notions Laundry Day Tee Dress) in a lightweight Spandex Tricot knit from Surge Fabrics. We had the whole dock outside to ourselves while eating lobster rolls~ it was HOT but I refused to eat mine indoors!

What were my Love Notions makes that saved the day during this unprecedented heat wave?
- Laundry Day Tee Dresses: New Pink version, Royal Blue Floral swim fabric, Aqua Loop French Terry
- Tinley Skorts: Perfect for walking about town and bike riding, made in swim knit. See HERE.
- Timbre Top and Caprice Skirt: I actually wore the navy double gauze version shown below out to dinner twice!
- Timbre Dress: A linen plaid version I made last summer. I wore it without the tie belt which made it super breezy and cool to wear.
- Short Sleeved Aria from cotton seersucker I made in the Spring. Read about this Aria HERE.
It was so hot that I didn’t get new photos of all the things I wore! But I did get photos of the Navy Double Gauze Timbre top and Caprice skirt!

On our last day, it was rainy and cool, and we still got a nice 10 mile bike ride in. We were a little wet (hence the crazy hair and wet jeans!), but it was worth it. My LN Constellations made in swim knit are my favorite! This is the newest version that I made with a custom printed swim knit (Raspberry Creek Fabrics)

What did I learn last week? I need more Timbre and Caprice skirts in double gauze and other super light weight and cool fabrics! So expect to see another version like the Navy one coming soon!
What I Sewed This Week
This week I have been working on so many different things!
- I am testing the new “hiking”pants and shorts pattern from Love Notions. This is totally out of my comfort zone as I rarely sew pants for myself. Keep a look out for those later on in July.
This is an early line drawing that Tami posted in the Facebook Group in case you’re curious!

2. Little Girl (4T) clothes for my great niece’s birthday. She (along with her brother) love their Aunt Mary MeMades! Below are a few photos and my FAVORITE patterns to sew up for her! All fabrics are Raspberry Creek Fabrics Cotton Spandex Jersey. My niece and nephew AND their mom just love this fabric for them. It gets softer and softer after wearing and washing plus it holds up so nicely too! All fabric links are below if interested.
- Brindle & Twig Baggy Tees ~ made with Raspberry Creek Fabrics Cotton Spandex Jersey
- Love Notions Everyday Playdress~ made with RCF Cotton Spandex Jersey

I also made a matching Brindle & Twig Baggy Tees for her brother and put together a whole bag filled with everything to make S’Mores! Isn’t that fabric from Raspberry Creek Fabrics adorable!?!?!

Sewing Plans for Next Week
Next week is my annual Sister’s Getaway to Cape May, New Jersey. Cape May is a quaint little Victorian beach town at the southern tip of NJ. We visit every summer for some quality beach time, good food (I always get my favorite crab cakes here!) and lots of laughs. We ride our bikes along the promenade, sit at the beach watching the dolphins and eat homemade fudge and Kohrs Frozen custard.
I am “hoping” to whip another Tinley skort (or 2) to take on my trip. I have these 2 swim knit from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. The Tie Dye is from a few seasons ago (but is available custom) and the Bicycles I had custom printed because doesn’t everyone need a bicycle skirt for when they ride?

Thanks for reading “The Weekly Stitch”! I’m so happy you took the time to “visit” my sewing room!

Bright Pink Geometric Spandex Tricot. This was a designer deadstock fabric I purchased last year from Surge Fabrics. This exact design is not available, however there are several more from the Jude Connally line on sale there. These UPF dresses and tops are sold in a lot of boutiques in coastal towns. My favorite shop in Mystic (The Mixed Bag) had a dress in this exact pink fabric last year!! You can see other fabrics here.
This is a Jude Connally Dress, it is the same fabric as my hot pink LDT dress. It sells for $198. Last year it was available in my exact pink print. I suggest signing up for Surge Fabrics emails as she often gets Designer Deadstock and if often sells out quickly. This print at Surge I believe is this exact print. If not it is very close to it.

Thats crazy hot weather for the NE! I love the new cargo pattern, right up my alley
