Three Fabrics – Three Leschi Blouses

Hi Friends!!

Looking for a cute blouse, without buttons and buttonholes, flowy and perfect for all those drapey rayons in your stash? Well, I think this is the perfect pattern for you!

I recently tested the Leschi from Straight Stitch Designs for it’s rerelease with extended sizing and B or D cup sizes! This blouse frequently caught my eye over on Instagram the past few years. It was on my list to try, then Kimberly from SSD put out a call for testers for the expanded size/cup sizes and I jumped at the opportunity.

The Leschi goes together so quickly! Kimberly’s directions are easy to follow and even include French seams! I made a size 12 with the D-cup and graded out to the 16 for the hip. The fit was perfect! I used a light weight bubble crepe that I had purchased last year from Alyssa Mae Designs. She always has a great selection of beautiful blouse weight fabrics. Alyssa has generously offered my readers a discount code for the month of April! (Read on!) I immediately fell in love with this blouse! So, I immediately cut out version #2!

My second version in blue and cream floral is the perfect year round blouse. It goes with everything! I purchased this rayon challis from LA Finch fabrics last year and was holding on to it until I found the perfect pattern. The Leschi was it! Be sure to visit LA Finch Fabrics for a wide variety of rayon challis and many designer deadstock fabrics.

To further prove to you how much I love this pattern- I cut up a Lilly Pulitzer scarf to create another Leschi. Yes, you read that right, I cut up a scarf(actually 2 scarves). Two years ago my daughter grabbed two limited edition Lilly Pulitzer for Target scarves for me when she was shopping the rerelease of their Lilly line. My intention was always to cut them up to create a blouse. Any of you petite curvy girls that love the look of Lilly, know that Lilly and curvy don’t go well together. It’s almost impossible to buy Lilly P off the rack- even if I wanted to pay the price.

So I’ve had these two 40″ X 70″ scarves for 2 years, just waiting for the perfect flowy blouse pattern to inspire me to cut them up! I did a search online and these scarves are still available on Poshmark and other sites!

Here is my Leschi Lilly Pulitzer blouse! I can’t wait to wear it this spring and summer! I even kept the pompom trim from the scarf for the sleeve hems. I can honestly say I love this blouse- but I won’t be rushing to make another blouse from such a thin fabric that frays just by looking at it! But, the French seams included in the pattern directions were a blessing! This fabric HAD to be sewn with French seams, and I didn’t have to do any additional thinking to include them- the directions were already included!

So if you want a quick and great fitting flowy blouse- check out the Leschi! Be sure to check out Kimberly’s blog here for some great hacks for this pattern. A sleeveless Leschi dress? Yes please, I think that is going on my summer to-sew list! There is also a tutorial for the V-neck and many more great resources!

Thanks for stopping by!

Be sure to stop by Alyssa May Designs for some new pretty fabric! Use the code APRIL10 for 10% the entire months of April!!!

All fabrics were purchased by me. The pattern was given to me by Straight Stitch Designs during testing, however all thoughts and opinions are my own. I mean, would I write a blog post about this blouse if I didn’t love it!?!?
