Made 4 Mermaids Jordan Dress

I am a repeat sewer, I admit it! As much as I want to sew all the new Indie releases that I see pop up on Instagram, when I find a pattern that works for me- I sew it again and again and again!

When I choose a new to me pattern, I always make a wearable muslin(this also helps me use up my very large fabric stash 😂). I alter, adjust and tweak it to fit my petite curvy shape perfectly. Once I’ve done this I find that I can’t help but make the pattern over and over and over again!

If you check out my Instagram @sewmarymac, you will find a lot of Hey June Willamettes & Halifax Hoodies, Love Notions Classic Tees, Harmonys & Sloane sweatshirts, and Grainline Studio Farrow Dresses, Alder Shirtdresses & Driftless Cardigans. I can’t help myself !

Back in March I received the Made For MermaidsJordan dress pattern for free as a Strike-Off sewist for Raspberry Creek Fabrics. I chose the pattern to make a beach cover-up with French Terry from the new Spring Fabric release. After making this first one- I knew it wasn’t going to be my last! In fact I made 2 more beach cover-ups for myself and one for my sister!

Getting ready to kayak the Mystic River!

I made a Kayaking dress that has been getting a lot of use this summer! I shortened the length on this one and slimmed the 3/4 sleeves so water wouldn’t run into the sleeve. It’s perfect and I’m sure I’ll be making another one next spring!

The cotton Lycra jersey from Raspberry Creek Fabrics and the Jordan pair together perfectly . Every time I see a new print that I love- I imagine how cute it would look as a Jordan dress!

.

The Jordan is a great basic pattern that I think everyone could use! I know I already have one for fall planned soon!

Note: Pattern was provided to me as a Strike-Off Sewist for Raspberry Creek Fabrics, but as always, all thoughts and opinions are my own 😊

Thanks for stopping by!

Mary Anne 😊
