…………Welcome To My Sewing Room!

Feature Friday Pattern From Love Notions~
I’m so excited about the Band Camp Shirt’s very first Feature Friday! Today only, 9/26/25 you can buy the Ladies Band Camp Shirt AND the Men’s Band Camp Shirt for just $6 each. Remember using my code 10MARYMAC will get you an extra 10% off.
I know I say this quite often but, you really NEED this pattern! It was a very satisfying sew, and much simpler to make than a traditional collared shirt due to its attached facing construction. So if you’ve been afraid to sew up a collared shirt, this is a pattern for YOU!
This has to be one of the MOST versatile top pattern offered by Love Notions. It works perfectly for ALL the seasons! I love my sleeveless versions(I need more next summer), wear my short sleeved versions all the time and adore my long sleeved versions as well! This shirt really works year round!
Please be sure to click over to my blog post all about the Band Camp Shirts~ there is a ton of information there. I’ve updated it to include new photos AND talk a bit about how different fabrics create totally different looking shirts. All my sizing details are there as well as some sewing tips too.

What I Wore Last Week~
Documenting what I’ve worn each week is really helping me to reach for those items I tend to skip over! I’m constantly saying to myself~ “Why haven’t I been wearing this?”! Last week, I was also trying to stay away from things I knew I was packing for this week’s trip. Last thing I wanted to be doing on Saturday was washing clothes I wanted to take on Sunday!
- LN Terra Tunic w/modified neckline in a rib knit with rickrack trim(few years ago from Mily Mae)
- Hey June Santa Fe Top in a multi-color striped rib knit from NYC garment district
- LN Lincoln Top~ In Ponte knit, modified to a longer length and with faux buttonholes.(from Surge Fabrics a few years ago)
- LN Aria Buttondown color blocked in linen from GrayLines Linen, NYC
- LN Timbre button-down with 3/4 sleeves in a cotton batiste Block print from Blackbird Fabrics
- LN Timbre with short sleeves in a custom print double gauze from Raspberry Creek Fabrics
Want all the details on the modified neckline of my Terra Tunic? Visit this blog post for all the details.
Need more details on my Lincoln Top? I lengthened it for more belly coverage and just sewed my buttons right on. I chose to leave the bottom buttons “open”. On this blog post I also show how I used the V-neck from the Terra Tunic on the Lincoln top. Visit this blog post for all the info.

Fabric Resources
Because a lot of the “What I Wore Last Week” makes I’ve featured were made last year(or even longer ago), I don’t have many fabric links for you this week.
Band Camp Shirts
- Blue/Tan floral is a stretch rayon poplin from Style Maker Fabrics last year. Notice it has much more structure than a rayon challis. I love this fabric base.
- Bright Pink “Bubble Gauze”~ from my large stash of this from Joann Fabrics
- Cream, orange, pink Block print Stretch Crepe~ from Raspberry Creek Fabrics. This is a great fabric to sew with if rayon challis is too shifty for you. This fabric was so easy to sew the plackets with! This fabric is still available HERE.
- Abstract print in rayon/linen blend from Metro Textiles, NYC. Available online here.
GrayLines Linen
This is one of my favorite shops in the NYC Garment District. They have this lightweight hankerchief linen in 43 colors. You can also order online HERE.
This is a Canadian shop that has always been my go to for quality cotton batiste block prints as well as exclusive rayon/linen prints. If you are in the US, they have halted shipping to the US for the time being which makes me very sad! Hopefully they will begin again, because I would pay the additional tariffs in order to get their fabrics. Luckily I still have 2 other block prints in my stash!
